It’s no secret that gym owners’ heads are full.
When your head is full, it’s very hard to make good decisions, be creative and be in the moment.
My head is full all the time with so much going on in my life.
Being a husband, a dad, taking care of my parents, running two businesses and starting a third, managing my health, connecting with my friends and doing hobby stuff like fishing and reading.
It’s a lot and I am sure you are on par with this too.
SO, here is what I do to help.
Long walks in the AM:
Walking is the only form of exercise that reduces cortisol. I go for a minimum of 60 minutes and many times up to 90. I do this very early in the AM before my family gets up and it’s a great way to start the day. When possible, I walk in the woods to really disconnect.
Brain dumps before any work:
Your brain is not designed to be a storage device. If it is, you won’t function optimally. The brain dump is a process where you get a legal pad and write down all the thoughts in your head. It’s not a to-do list, its simply getting all the things flying around in your head on paper so you no longer have to store it. I try to do this every day before I do any work and will do a very long one on Fridays before I shut it down for the weekend.
Massage every week:
I realize this is something not many people can do. I only started this about a year ago. I always got massages but never on a weekly basis. When I made this investment in my health everything improved. You can start with once per month and move up from there.
Your brain is your #1 asset you have as an entrepreneur, take care of it.
