A Huge Mistake When Sending an Email

Huge day on Thursday as I unleashed close to a 3-hour presentation on email marketing to the gym owners enrolled in the Surge Program.

Some of them were not emailing at all.  Some very sporadically and some were doing a few days a week.

By the end, they all realized that improving their email game gives them a free way to generate new leads, activate unconverted leads and get back old members quickly and easily.

I went over 8 different kinds of emails to send, the best subject lines to use, how to repurpose emails, how to grow their email list, autoresponders, how to create a never-ending list of topics to write about and…

One of the tips I unpacked that seemed very eye opening to them I want to share with you was to make sure the email comes from a person.

Lots of gyms will put “Gabriele Fitness LLC” or the like in the “from” section of the email.  Switch this out with your name.

People trust a human being easier than an LLC.

The “from” and the “subject” line are the two things that determine if your email will be opened.

These two things need to be right.

In terms of subject lines, there are two that you can use pretty much all the time.

The first is curiosity.

I used a curiosity subject line on the email you’re reading right now.

“Huge Mistake When Sending an Email”

There is some mystery about this that intrigued you to open this.

The second is to make the subject line obvious, useful and beneficial to the reader.

For an email to your local community it might look something like:

“How to Get a Better Night of Sleep…Tonight”

Most people who will look at that say, “I need that”.

I’m scraping the surface about what we covered and I’m out of time today.

If you’re interested in getting in on the next Surge Program that will be in February, reply here and I’ll put you on the list.
