Subject: The Secret Breakfast no one knows about 

People ask me all the time what they should eat for breakfast when trying to lose weight.

Here is my short answer: 

Protein and Fat.

Here’s why:

Your body burns fat when you sleep.

When you wake up and eat a bagel or cereal you will start to burn carbs (not fat).

If you eat protein and fat your body will continue to burn fat. 

Eating Protein for breakfast allows for slow steady rise in blood sugar and the fat allows your blood sugar to remain stable over time.

If you’re looking to lose weight controlling your blood sugar is essential.

Eating protein and fat is a great way to do it.

ALSO, eating protein and fat raises the neurotransmitters in the brain most important for focus (listen up kids!)

Here are a few options:  

Poached eggs and almonds. 

Turkey slices and avocado (my Mom’s favorite).  

 Grilled steak and avocado (Left over from dinner).  

Turkey burger and walnuts.

Chicken sausage and pecans. 

Turkey slices and almonds (Cathy Balsamo’s favorite)

Protein Shake with handful of nuts (For the busy guy)  

Veggie Omelet with a table spoon of coconut oil in your coffee or tea (Mmmmm)

So, if you want to get lean, ditch the carbs in the morning.
