People overthink creating a resource you can use as a lead gen tool.
Your lead magnet does not have to be very long, nor does it need a ton of detail.
Here’s really all you need:
Let’s say your sister that lives in Idaho calls you and tells you she wants to get back in shape.
What would you tell her?
Start eating more vegetables, cut down on sugar, start doing to some strength work, maybe a cardio session and to get a better night’s sleep by setting up a night time ritual.
In that call, you can’t give her everything. You can only give her some suggestions to get things rolling or give her some actionable things to do.
- Think very hard on the title, this could be most important. It is the deciding factor if it will be read. Knowing what your target market wants is key, solve a problem they have and it will get read.
- Write an intro paragraph.
- Lists work well for lead magnets. Think of about 7 things to highlight and write 1-3 paragraphs for each one.
- Write a conclusion.
- Have a separate page with a CTA.
- Send to a graphic designer to make it look cool.
With all the changes with Facebook these days you need multiple strategies.
It used to be you put out an offer for a trial membership and people came in, not the case anymore.
A lead magnet is a way to market that is a little slower because you’ll have to nurture them through the process a little more. It’s still an effective strategy.
