When I was 12 years old I was on a travel baseball team.
I apparently was not very good, so I rode the bench.
Then one day, they put me up to bat.
Then they put me up again.
Two run, home Run.
And again, yup another one.
3 games in a row, 3 home runs.
I was something called Unused Capacity.
You have it in your business.
You have people, resources, software, relationships, opportunities that are not being used…
…and if you did, there’s a pot of money waiting for you on the other end of it.
Hence, unused capacity.
This is a mindset I teach daily to my Mastermind members.
If it’s not a mindset you won’t be aware of how much unused capacity is actually swimming around you.
There are countless examples of unused capacities that I see in gyms everyday.
Many of them are in the form of operational inefficiencies.
The gym that fails to pay attention to their capacity rate will not be as nearly as profitable as they could be.
If on average your 10 AM session has 2 spots filled and can hold a max of 6, there is a boat load of unused capacity.
The amount of money lost over the course of a year would make you want to vomit…so you don’t look…. I’ve been here before.
Another unused capacity I see in gym is relationships.
You have very connected people that train at your gym.
They run the PTA, they head up sports leagues, they coach teams, they run offices filled with potential clients right down the road from you.
But you do nothing with it…nothing.
You don’t ask to take them to lunch.
You don’t ask to run a free demo.
You just fiddle around with Facebook ads thinking that magic bullet is going to save your business.
If you think focusing only on lead gen right now is the best way to make money you’ll be pretty frustrated with your results…just a reminder…you’re in a recession.
The secret to winning in this business climate is to be more efficient and effective in all areas of your business.
This means, no waste.
Take a look at your business.
What do you have now, right now at your disposal that is simply sitting there waiting for you to activate so you can turn it into money.
