Results from My Father’s Day Emails

A few days before Father’s Day, Leo, (the GFP GM) came in and asked me if we were doing anything for Father’s Day?

I quickly said, “Nah, we just ran the meltdown.”

He said, “OK cool.” 

Right after he left I thought to myself, why shouldn’t we run something for Father’s Day?

I did a quick search on my laptop and found the Father’s Day promo emails from 2019.

I started reading them and was like, “Oh man these are pretty good emails.”

In a completely unfocused and distracted moment, I started editing them. 

I changed subject lines, I added an email or two, and tweaked the days around.

I worked on them for about 45 minutes, and it was about 10 emails. 

I yelled into the office across the hall like I was ordering a sub sandwich…

“Leo, 2021 Father’s Day emails are good to go, first one goes out Sunday night.”

I saved them to our Google drive and also put our social media guy on the shared file. In the message, I told him to make some promo videos using the content from the emails.

The result was 15 sales of our 30-day trial with several very solid candidates. 

On the front end that’s $1500 ($99 each).

On the back end…pending we close at our normal 60% rate from trial…that’s $3,600 in recurring revenue and over 40K annually.

Not bad for 45 minutes of work.

Here’s the very important takeaway:

The 2019 Father’s Day emails were what I call a Marketing Asset. 

They were valuable to us in 2019 but even more valuable to us in 2021 because of how little time it took to get them launched. 

The Father’s Day emails are something that can be dusted off once a year for the next decade with a few tweaks. 

If you want to make your business more valuable and make more money while spending a LOT less time, collect more of these kinds of assets for your business. 

The secret is doing it really well the first time around.
