Last week we had 50 gym owners out in Orlando, Florida for the SPF Mastermind Meeting.
We had a very special surprise guest speaker, the legendary, Thomas Plummer.
Thomas never does events like this and most of the people were shocked to see him there.
I asked him to come and speak on two very important topics:
- When should you open your second location
- What is your exit strategy
The exit strategy portion got a ton of wheels turning.
Have you considered what you want to happen at the end of your career?
Do you want to sell your gym?
Thom went over which key aspects your business needs to have to get the max amount of money in a sale.
He talked about who would buy it and even went over a formula for how to find out how much your gym is worth.
He also talked about other ways to exit other than selling your gym.
Whatever you decide, it’s important to know NOW what you want at the end.
The second location hit home with many of our members as several of them are in the process of deciding on opening second locations.
Thom gave them clarity on what needs to be in place BEFORE you sign your second lease and what the pitfalls may be.
He also talked about the difference of having 2 facilities and 3, he said anyone can juggle 2 but it takes a true gym owner to operate 3.
The best advice I can give you is this…
Even if you NEVER want to open a second gym, run it like you do.
That mindset will NOT fail you.
