Lack of focus and burnout are massive problems for entrepreneurs, but I think gym owners take the cake.
I know this because I was once an unfocused, burnt out gym owner.
In addition, I’ve coached many gym owners to break through these problems.
One of the biggest causes of burn out is working too many hours IN your business.
This especially includes admin duties that we naturally suck at and running training sessions.
Many people underestimate the mental and emotional tax to your brain from running sessions.
I know this because I was personal trainer for 13 years before I became a consultant and full-time gym owner that did not train sessions.
I know the challenge of being up all the time and bringing the energy.
I know the challenge of absorbing other people’s issues.
We were never taught how to effectively handle them.
The good natured helpful person in us wants to solve them. If we don’t, we take them home and think about them until we do.
It’s not our fault, we’re just trying to help.
But it’s crippling our brains.
It’s not allowing us to focus and do what we need to do to grow.
The only people that suffer from this is, well, everyone.
You suffer.
Your health suffers.
Your family suffers because you cannot focus on them during the few hours you are actually there (I learned this one the hard way).
Your team suffers because they cannot be led by an unfocused, tired leader.
Your members suffer because they do not get your best.
Only Superman can run 30-40 training sessions a week and still have the brain power to grow a business and lead a family.
I’ve been down this road myself and I know the way out.
I’ve helped many gym owners get off this road too.
If you’re on that road, I’d love to help.
