This Friday, Tom (the man in charge of my gym), and I will be meeting to discuss the upcoming marketing and sales strategy for 2019.
We have the day blocked out and will be going off-site to have this ultra-important meeting.
It’s basically what I talked about yesterday, the strategy portion of your marketing.
I want to give you the behind the scenes peek at how we structure a meeting like this.
Since I am the one that creates the strategy for the business, it’s my job to organize and lead this meeting.
I had Tom gather a bunch of numbers we needed relative to our marketing a few weeks ago.
Numbers like how many leads we got, where they came from, how much money we spent, what events we held, and the results from them and a whole bunch more.
When we meet, we’ll have the data we need to be able to make decisions moving forward, not waste a bunch of time looking up those numbers during the meeting.
Next, we’ll talk about things that went very well that we definitely want to do again.
For example, last Spring, we had a very successful 4-week challenge that brought in several long-term members.
Another example is our Black Friday sale that brought in a record of 60(!) purchases of our 30-day Jumpstart. I think we’ll be running that play again too.
We look at what went well and then put it on our calendar to repeat.
Then we looked at what did not go well.
An example for us was getting new clients from Facebook ads. The leads were there but the cost per lead skyrocketed from the past year. We’re contemplating spending some of that money in other places.
Finally, I will show up with new ideas we’ve yet to explore and discuss those things to see if I can make a case to put them into the strategy.
You may be thinking a year is a lot to plan. The answer to this is we build a skeleton for the full year but a full-blown hard plan for the first 90 days so we don’t stress about getting the entire year perfect.
I love a large whiteboard calendar with the full year on it.
I don’t have the time to go over the entire process but I think you can get started simply from what I just presented.
If you think this would help you and want to learn the entire strategy, I will be teaching and leading you through this in the 6-week New Client Surge.
There is only one spot left.
Reply to this email and let me know if you want it.
