Researchers may have found the real “Fountain of Youth”.
It’s actually not a fountain at all: it’s a weight room!
You read that right, more and more studies are proving that strength training might be the secret to living a longer, healthier and more active life.
Researchers at Tufts University NEPS Laboratory continue to find that maintaining muscle mass is the key factor in quality of life as we age.
(NEPS stands for Nutrition, Exercise Physiology and Sarcopenia).
People who maintain their muscle mass and strength as they age are able to stay active and are far less injury prone and susceptible to illness.
The common misconception is that you have spend countless hours “pumping iron” and packing on muscle mass and that is not the case at all.
In fact, just 2-3 days of smart strength training can pay huge dividends and help preserve existing muscle mass and even help drop unwanted body fat.
