Do You Want to Speak at Perform Better?

On Sunday at 9:30 AM, I take the stage at one of the largest fitness conventions in the world.
 
It’s something I have been striving toward for a very long time and I more than humbled and honored.
 
I attended my first conference close to 15 years ago and have attended every year since.
 
I started attending as a personal trainer, then as a business owner.
 
I have learned a ton and developed great relationships with guys like Tom Plummer, Mike Boyle, Charlie Weingroff and Martin Rooney.
 
I developed great relationships with them because I did 2 things:
 
1. Showed Curiosity and asked good questions
 
2. Invested in them
 
After they would speak I would always go up to them and thank them. Then I would always have a great question for them that I had prepared ahead of time.
 
The questions was always about how I could help create a better business for my members. People appreciate when you are looking to help others. They want to help you more.
 
I have brought Charlie Weingroff to my facility for an entire day. We’ve done this several times and have referred him many patients.
 
I brought Martin Rooney in to do an in-service for my staff .
 
I attended Mike Boyle’s mentorship and have purchased every one of his dvd’s.
 
I have attended every single Tom Plummer seminar. I have invested thousands of dollars in coaching calls with him.
 
Even when I paid them I always showed genuine appreciation and sent them thank you notes and gifts.
 
When you invest in people, you’re not only learning from them. You show them you trust them because of that investment.
 
Trust creates great relationships.
 
When it came time for me to inquire about the possibility of speaking at Perform Better the nod from these types of giants went a long way.
 
I’m not saying this is the only thing you need to do, having a successful 11 year career as a gym owner helped too.
 
It seems to some like I got picked overnight. There’s been a whole lot of things that have happened to make this a reality.
