How to Get More Clients from Referrals

There are gobs of panicking gym owners out there seeing the cost per lead on Facebook go through the roof. 
Not just this, but they’re having fits with unqualified leads, tire kickers and people just looking for the next deal.  
Having a referral system for your gym is the absolute best marketing you could ever do.  
There is an entire world of referral marketing that very few know about and even less actually put into action. 
Some say its old school. 
Others say it’s too much work. 
The reality is the only style of marketing that will never ever go away is referral marketing.  
Well, there is one way. 
The only way it could ever go away is if you make it go away.  
You should be getting referrals just by doing a great job, many gyms do. 
If you are not, you need to start looking around at what’s going on at your gym. 
Are Clients Happy? 
Are they having fun? 
Are they getting results? 
Are they connecting with people? (Why I favor small group over 1-1.) 
Are they learning? 
Before you can deploy some of the lethal referral strategies I have rolled up my sleeve, you need to make sure the service you are providing is actually worthy of being referred. 
Many times, the first step in activating a referral marketing system is simply focusing on providing a better experience for your members.  
Now, I’m hoping many of you reading this are on track here. 
If you are, you’re probably getting a small number of referrals but it’s not a lead gen source you can depend on or predict.  
What this means is your doing a great job but there is one thing you’re just not doing. 
You’re not making it easy enough for your clients to refer. 
There is one thing I am 100% certain of. 
I am certain your clients do not leave your gym and spend their afternoon thinking about which of their friends they should refer to you. 
Nor would you do this for any other business that you go to.  
People are busy with their own lives and sending you a client is simply not on their radar. 
Unless, you put it on their radar. 
That’s the first thing you need to start doing. 
Start thinking of the ways to make it easier for your clients to refer instead of making them do all the work.
