It’s True…These 5 Steps are The Secret to Good Marketing

I’m just leaving the event in Cleveland, and one of the main points that was made during the weekend is having a marketing plan. 

You don’t have a marketing plan unless you…

  • Have a clear marketing message that shows how you’re different 
  • Know exactly who you’re trying to get to buy your stuff
  • Have multiple ways to get new customers
  • Your plan is effective and efficient (you have the time or staff to act on your plan)
  • You’re tracking your results 

If you don’t have a plan you’ll always be distracted and participate in what I call Squirrel Marketing. 

Way too many gym owners are tactic seekers. 

They tinker around with the latest and best social media ideas and find things that work in the short term. 

This always fails in the long term because tactic seekers almost never have the 5 steps listed above in place.
