What I did to get Selected to Speak at Perform Better

As mentioned, I made my debut on the Perform Better circuit this past Sunday.

It was truly an honor to hear the feedback on Facebook afterwards from some industry greats.

Mike Boyle: “Nice Job, you looked like an old pro”

Tom Plummer: “You have arrived at the next step of the journey”

After going to this conference for 13 years, you always see the same people that attend.

Many of them asked me how I got on the tour.

I could have highlighted how I attended for 13 years but they did that too.

I could have said how I was a loyal client of perform better but they did that too.

I could have said I had experience speaking in other venues but many of them had done that too.

I could have said how I became friends with and had relationships with several of the other speakers on the tour.

I could have said that I have run a successful gym for 11 years and it was my turn, but they had done that too.

The one difference…

I asked.

I’m no superstar.

I’m a hardworking guy like you.

A trainer turned business owner that has fallen in love with the fitness industry.

Perform Better did not bang down my door for me to speak.

In fact, quite the opposite.

I simply asked to speak and was fortunate to get some people to stand behind me and I got it.
