Right now, pretty much everyone you know is thinking about what they are going to do differently next year.
A very large percentage of them will have something about health and fitness on that list.
Timing is very important in business.
As a gym owner, there are built in times of year where you will get an influx of people interested for no other reason except for the time of year.
On the flip side, most people are not even thinking about joining a gym in August because they are on vacation for most of the month.
The old adage, “strike while the iron is hot is not a bad strategy”.
The place where people mess up is waiting for these times and just letting them happen.
I had a struggling gym owner once tell me, “I’m just waiting for January”.
Nothing good can come from just sitting back and waiting for the periods where we know there will be more interest in our gyms.
The key is to maximize these times, not just let them happen.
If you wait, you’ll just get who you would have got anyway.
If you attack, and aggressively market to the people you know are already thinking about this, you’ll dominate.
